The CMAP Device
The CMAP (Continuously Monitoring Airway Pressure) is a small electronic device with a state-of-the-art airflow sensor that captures nasal and oral breathing in and out air pressure via nasal and oral cannulas, which translates into a waveform for display and analysis. It also measures heart rate (BPM) and oxygen saturation level (SpO2). The CMAP transmits data via Bluetooth/WiFi to mobile devices for display, analysis, alerts, and coaching. The speaker and haptic motor are controlled by the connected app for user communication and alerts. The CMAP’s pulse oximetry capabilities are captured with finger or earlobe sensors that attach via the CMAP USB-C port.
The CMAP Device
The CMAP offers multiple model configurations to comply with different FDA classifications of ‘General Wellness’ and ‘Class I’:
- 1 Pressure Sensor - 1 cannula port
- 2 Pressure Sensors - 2 cannula ports
- Oximetry Sensor with Pulse Heart Rate only, with 1 cannula port
- Oximetry Sensor with Pulse Heart Rate and SpO2, with 2 cannula ports The CMAP can be worn on a lanyard, armband, or clipped to a garment. The CMAP’s measurement of oral/nasal respiration is significantly more accurate and comfortable.
